Polystyrene, or PS, is a highly versatile plastic that is used in the manufacture of various consumer goods. As it is a hard, solid plastic, it is often used for the manufacture of transparent products, such as food containers. It can also be combined with different colourants, additives and other plastics.

PS can be used to make toys, electronics, domestic appliances, and a range of other products.

Polystyrene is also made in a foam-type format, called expanded polystyrene or EPS, which has excellent insulating properties and is used in the manufacture of (among other things) domestic appliances, surfboards and food containers.
